Helena Friedman practiced divorce and family law for nearly 40 years. After her retirement as an attorney, she devotes her time to the practice of divorce and family mediation. She brings to her practice thoughtful outcomes, peaceful resolutions, and four decades of experience.

Having been licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut and in various federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court, she brings a wide background of experience. In addition to her primary focus of family law, she has done work in personal injury, litigation and criminal defense. In the field of family law, Attorney Friedman has helped myriads of traditional and non-traditional families with divorce, custody, child support, parenting time, modifications, contempts, abuse prevention, guardianship of minors, grandparent’s rights, child welfare, collaborative law and mediation.

Helena became a lawyer in order to empower people to overcome obstacles and successfully navigate transitions in their lives. Divorce and breakup of significant relationships are difficult transitions, which requires skillful, supportive expertise. Known for her creativity and insight, she has been able to help families, even in high conflict situations, come up with mutually acceptable outcomes.
